Mint, or mentha, as it is officially known, is a wildly growing plant that occurs naturally in 13 to 18 different flavours. Mint is known to have originated in the Mediterranean region and Asia, but has been historically used in many cultures for medicinal and aromatic purposes. Mint grows best in moist soils in partial shade, but can tolerate a range of temperatures. They are grown directly from cuttings of healthy mint plants by submerging some portions of the stem in soil so that they can catch root.
