Apple gourd, or tinda, as it is known in northern India, is a squash like cucurbit grown for its immature fruit that is frequently eaten roasted or cooked in many Indian and Pakistani gourmet dishes. Like other gourds, tinda is also a creeper plant that starts producing copious amounts of fruits in around 2 months from planting. It grows best in sunny conditions with 25 to 30 degrees C temperatures.
